I started this blog with the sole purpose of sharing with you one of my passions – leadership development and personal growth. This blog is called “Intentional Living” because not being intentional about our daily activities and thoughts mean that we are placing a lid on our potential. By being intentional we are putting ourselves on a path that will take us to the fulfillment of our dreams and heights we never thought possible.
Some of you may ask, what does being intentional mean? It simply means living on purpose. It means carefully selecting, on a daily basis, the activities that you will participate in, the thoughts you meditate on, the people you surround yourself with and the attitude you display. If you don’t take control of your life and do the things that matters most, someone else or something else will. And you may not like where you end up. An example that one of my mentors used many years back is the following:
If your goal is to become a great musician, you don’t go to law school and expect when you come out you’ll be the world’s best musician. Instead, you would go to a music school or take private lessons and practice. That’s how you become a musician.
Life contains a series of learning moments that you would not miss if you are practicing intentional living. So live intentionally, learn and grow.
In order to add some value to you, I will use this blog to:
- Share with you life and leadership principles that have positively impacted my life
- Inform you of resources that I have used that can further help you in your quest for growth
- Incite you to take actions and positively change your life
Most of the articles will have actionable steps to help you in your quest to live intentionally. As I study, research and apply the laws and principles that I will be sharing with you on this blog, my hope is that you will join me on a growth journey by taking some time to reflect on your life, set some goals and create an action plan that will take you closer to where you envision your life to be.
